Artist Bio
John Carl Martin is a master of transformation and a triumph of the human spirit. A self taught artist, native of Barbados, born with sickle cell anemia and a hearing impairment that went undiscovered until age 32, John turned to his creative gifts to overcome life's obstacles and adapt to his surroundings. John channeled his creative gifts to not only survive, but thrive.
As the CEO of JMartin Designs, his work has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide, collaborating with entertainment companies and celebrities appearing in movies, music videos, on TV and in print around the world. John is also a co-creator of the acclaimed children's book series "What Makes Me Happy, What Brings Me Joy," written and illustrated with his daughter Destiny.
An accomplished public speaker, John has presented Happy Island book readings and workshops on virtual platforms, as well as in public spaces, museums, libraries, and schools throughout New York City.
John is also a yogi and minister, president of the Oakland Uptown Toastmasters Club, a Core Team leader in his spiritual community, and an energy transformation facilitator, offering life-changing virtual workshops to inspire positivity and growth. With his unrivaled passion and wisdom, he will inspire you to tap into your creative power and live life to the fullest.
